Here in America, women are fighting for the right to control our own bodies, in other parts of the world, things are even more medieval…
I am in awe of the brave women of Iran who have taken up protesting, risking their lives to amplify their collective voices after the death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman killed by the morality police for not wearing her headscarf in the “right manner”, showing too much hair in public.
Any society which fails to give equal rights to autonomy of the sexes is one in which a woman is nothing more than the property of a man. She has no more worth than a cow, or a family pet.
I applaud and bow to every woman who has the conviction and strength to resist subjugation. And I thank every man who stands by their side in protest and solidarity.
But WHERE is the mainstream media coverage of this movement?
We need to stand behind each and every one of these brave women and the men joining in with support and amplify each and every voice.
