Ari and I stepped out to celebrate 25 years of Law & Order SVU. This show gave Ari the special opportunity to play a role written specifically for him to honor his Yemenite, Jewish, Israeli and American heritage. Sgt. Khaldoun having an American accent and speaking Arabic and Hebrew was no small gesture and Ari is often reminded how much his role meant to a lot of people who feel unseen and underrepresented in television and film.
