That was my only wish when I started showbiz, but a 16-year-old dreamer would never have what I am experiencing right now if no one believed in me. A teenager with no talent, just hope, and big dreams in my pocket. Right after PBB at the victory party in 2006, he approached me and asked, โ€œAno kayang mong gawin?. โ€œ Sabi ko โ€œwala po, nahihiya po ako.โ€ Then he told me mag workshop ka lang may project akong bagay sayo. Then he gave me #LoveSpell while doing it. I cried hard because I wanted to go home to Cebu out of frustration. After all, I donโ€™t know how to act, plus my prosthetics pa. He gave me the role of a girl and a boy simultaneously. When he knew about me having a hard time, He went on set and talked to me, closed door, and asked me โ€œwhy I was doing this. For whom am I doing all this? What do I want and why?โ€ Then I quickly answered, โ€œGusto ko e ahon ang mga kapatid ko sa hirap, makapagtapos sila ng pag aaral, yung hindi na po kami nanghihingi at nakikitira.โ€ Then he immediately told me,โ€œYan ang lagi mong iisipin pag napapagod at nahihirapan ka. Wag kang susuko basta basta Kim.โ€ After that, nakatatak na sa utak ko lagi yung sinabi niya. For my every win and every loss, Sir Deo has always been there for me. He didnโ€™t leave my side. He is always there, and he is always the first person to believe in me when no one does. He always fights for me; He gave me light and hope whenever I felt down. He always gives me advice and tells me in my face the hurtful truth when no one can even say it. He saw me at my worst; I almost gave up showbiz, packed my bags, and was about to leave the country for good. Yet, he has always been there to help me stand up again. Tumapang ako because of him. Thank you, Sir Deo. I am not where I am now if not because of you. You will always have a special place in my heart. I am forever grateful for all your help, for all your greatness and generosity. Kim Chiu Instagram – It is a different kind of Sunday. A bittersweet kind of day.๐Ÿ’” Being in the entertainment industry, one person told me not to bring my personal problems in front of the camera. If you canโ€™t do it, donโ€™t go to work, because our job is to entertain people. People wonโ€™t understand what you are truly feeling inside, they donโ€™t know anything, unless you tell them one by one or tell them what you are going through, but not all of them will understand, and not all of them know what is happening inside you. But for me, going to work, and being present, is my way of escaping to my reality. I can smile, laugh, talk to people, sing, dance, host, act, and much more. I can pretend that everything is okay at the time being. But yesterday seemed very very hard, but I know Sir Deo will not be happy if I donโ€™t attend to one of his first projects in AbsCbn, celebrating 29 years of ASAP. I am forever thankful to ASAP for teaching me how to perform since I started showbiz until today. I am grateful for the endless production numbers theyโ€™ve been giving me and entrusting me to do. I started na parehong kaliwa ang paa ko, but ASAP didnโ€™t give up on me; singing is not my jam too, and hosting na masakit sa tenga ako magsalita. But 17 years later, Iโ€™m still here performing and celebrating 29 years of excellence and world-class performance, along side with the best of the best in the industry. Indeed, I am truly and forever grateful! Thank you ASAP FAMILY! Congratulations to everyone most especially people behind ASAP all these years! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
