February used to be a month I’d dread— winter charm has worn off, unrelenting cold, Valentine’s Day, pilot season (?)… Now it feels like the last cold breath of winter with a couple shocks of life bursting through— we huddle together for warmth, dreaming up what will grow in the spring, the sacredness of a deep hibernation of sorts comes clumsily shuddering to a stop. Meanwhile I gobble up all the art, wisdom, and quiet I can before it blossoms into something loud and brave. Remembering that we are the seasons too.
