Poppy Liu Instagram – i’m furious. we reached our fundraiser goal for @theslowfactory within a day (✨yay✨) but that same evening @gofundme placed a hold on all donations while they “review the campaign for compliance.” this is the 5th fundraiser i have hosted on gofundme and the first time one of my campaigns has come under such scrutiny. it is incredibly clear that this request for review is driven by anti-arab racism and corresponds directly with national discrimination to suppress 🍉ian voices.
i have sent all the information they have requested and have been met with silence or more requests. gofundme claims this is about compliance and policy and concern for “those affected by the crisis unfolding in the middle east.” it is, in fact, about none of those things. it is entirely about stifling the voices, violating the right of free speech, and bullying into silence those people who dare to publicly support what is happening to the 🍉ian people.
