She always reached out to support me and now I’m supporting her right back. I continue to be so proud of her incredible accomplishments. Even in death, we continue to see her light and inspiration.
I always loved seeing Cheslie’s closeness to her mom, April. In fact, the last topic we messaged about was her mama and how stunning she looked during the Miss Universe competition in Israel. Cheslie wrote, “my mom is a whole mood!” 🥰🤣❤️
Before her death, Cheslie wrote a book and her dear mom has honored Cheslie’s final wish to have her book published. “By The Time You Read This” is available for pre-order, and you can read in Cheslie’s own words her story of working to realize her dreams of becoming Miss USA, a lawyer, and an inspiration to young women of color while opening a window into her long battle with depression.
