Racism is so systemically ingrained in our society and it is killing our brothers and sisters. If you immediately and viscerally say “no it’s not!” I need you to STOP and look at yourself. Why do you disagree? What color is your skin? How was your upbringing, did you live your childhood in fear? Are you scared to walk down your neighborhood street? Do you fear for your life when you see police? If not, can you acknowledge your privilege? Can you take a single minute to comprehend that when a black man and a white man walk down the exact same street at the exact same time they will be having a completely different experience? I will never truly be able to understand but I will do my damndest to support and fight for those oppressed. KINDNESS is what the world needs, kindness and COMPASSION. The next time you get defensive, why don’t you imagine yourself in the exact position as George Floyd? The only way the world can grow is if we take the time to see the world from others’ perspectives and ask “Is this how I would want to be treated?” #blacklivesmatter #justiceforGeorgeFloyd ⁣
