Yes, Latinos are not all narcos, gang leaders, prostitutes or drug dealers. But some of the characters that are often portrayed do come from places of truth what we don’t often get to understand is what makes someone go to the depths to kill another human and if American content is going to portray us as the terrorists and bad guys and at least give us more back story. I truly believe that at the core is greed from those who continue to oppress the oppressed. People who hold, money, power, and safety over others and continue to beat them even while they see them and their families suffering. That’s the part the behind the scenes, the back story that isn’t highlighted enough. How the cycle of hurt people hurt others and where does it begin. Many of the Latinos that are often portrayed as bad hombres or mujeres sometimes are because life has beat them, raped them, starved them down. By no means am I excusing this behavior. Let me make this clear, what im saying is that we need to get more back story so we can see where the violence begins. Here’s a scene from role I played on The Brave on NBC who’s held a plane hostage for 50 million dollars to end the starvation, killings, rape, oppression and lack of education for over 100 years of her people due to political corruption and abuse of power in her country. Yes, Latinos are often portrayed like this but we need more stories like Griselda to help us understand the suffering of humans and what makes us reach these extremes. #thebrave #nbc #griselda #latinocharacters #backstory #rebelleaders #war #filmandtelevision #latinoactors
