There is an ever present myth that if you can be recognized on TV, you must be rich. With the way payment models are now, that can’t be farther from the truth. Some actors are able to find financial success, and some, even if they are on hit shows, still barely struggle to get by. Without negotiating a new deal, a fair deal, it will become virtually impossible to make a living as an actor. Another thing we’re fighting for is protection against AI. Right now the AMPTP wants to pay background actors for ONE DAY of work and then use their image as much as they like in perpetuity (FOREVER). This is absolutely rotten!!
