I call it Christmas Crack because it’s addictive like crack cocaine! World’s best Rocky Road Recipe Ingredients 5 x 55g Turkish Delight 5 x 52g Cherry Ripe 2 x 150g Violet Crumble 2 x 150g Ripe Raspberries 1 x 150g Strawberries & Creams 1 x 520g Mixed Marshmallows 1 x 250g slivered almonds (toasted) 1 x 250g shredded coconut (toasted) 5 x 225g milk chocolate melts 1 x 225g white chocolate melts Method: Chop EVERYTHING Melt chocolate in glass bowl in microwave checking every 30 secs Mix all ingredients together Pour and press into large baking trays Set in fridge for a few hours Divide up as presents Store in fridge or freezer Makes a shit tonne. You’re welcome PS Yes I left out Clinkers this year. My personal protest over gross green clinkers. Caption : Bit emotional about booking in for a hysterectomy. I know a lot of you say it’s the best thing you’ve ever done. BUT I’m terrified of the recovery down time. How long did you take off work to recover? I’m freaking out because I run my own business and if I don’t work I don’t get paid. 6-8 weeks seems unattainable. Is it realistic to have two full weeks off work but then do light work like writing and online media training for another two until I’m up to being on stage and MCing events at about four weeks? Caption : No more Secret Women’s Business! We need to talk about ALL the symptoms of perimenopause. I’m pleased to say I’m managing my depression and my hot flushes have reduced BUT another symptom is taking over and making me miserable. HEAVY BLEEDING. I bled for 89 days straight but managed it as it was more spotting than anything else. Then after only ten days of not bleeding this latest period has lasted FIVE WEEKS and each day is like day one flow. Plus I’m cramping like I used to as a teenager. I know some women sail through peri but there are also some like me who keep getting knocked to the ground by it. I’m just keeping it real and hoping by sharing anyone else in the same situation feels less alone. UPDATE – trying tranexamic acid tablets to stop the bleeding until I can see my gyno in mid December. Yes I’m getting my iron levels checked too.

Caption : I’m heartbroken to hear that Peta Murphy passed away today. She was instrumental in the first ever menopause parliamentary round table in May. I loved working with her to lobby for menopause awareness and another time campaigning for women’s reproductive rights. She was kind and smart and she made a difference. Here is the news from Channel Nine: Federal Labor MP Peta Murphy has died at the age of 50 after a long battle with cancer. Murphy, the Member for Dunkley, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 at just 37 years of age. A tearful Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced her death in a press conference in Canberra a short time ago. “A short time ago Peta Murphy passed away at home, which was her wish,” he said. “Her husband of 24 years, Rod, was with her, along with her parents, and her sisters.

Caption : Not going to lie, there have been a number of teary meltdowns while working so hard and fast for the past 8 weeks. After a very lean work year (thanks shit economy and cost of living budget cuts) I said “yes please” to all work that came my way and that my fab agent @simslstyle drummed up. In 8 weeks I did… 22 x Interstate flights 10 x MC/Hosting gigs 4 x Keynote Speaking gigs 10 x Today Extra and Today Show TV appearances 10 x Talking Honey episodes scripted and recorded 7 x Don’t Sweat It Webinars 3 x Media training sessions 16 x 9Honey Articles Am I exhausted? Yes. Am I glad I did it all? Yes. Did I cry more than a few times? Yes. Am I grateful for the work? YES! Am I now going to curl into a ball for a few weeks, probably have a few more exhausted tears but rest, lie around with puppies and do the minimum to recharge – SHIT YES! When you run your own business or you ARE your own business work/life balance is bullshit. Work hard when you can and rest when you can but be aware it may not happen on your preferred timeline. Caption : New Year’s Resolutions don’t work. But each year I have chosen a word to guide my year. Previous words like SOAR, COURAGE and MONEY, have helped set my intentions and served me well. This year I would like to make some internal changes. While I like that I am empathetic, bubbly and kind – I don’t like that I am a workaholic, control freak, perfectionist. So my word for 2024 is FLOW. I want to be in the FLOW of work, enjoying what comes in but not desperately pushing for more. FLOW when it comes to my health and the time it needs for gentle exercise and healing. Enjoy the FLOW of my business and relishing the busy times and not panicking in the slow times. Embracing the FLOW and gentler pace of living in paradise. Appreciate the FLOW of my happy home with my incredible husband and loveable furkids. And of course enjoy the FLOW of our jacuzzi! Caption : We are home from holidays and I drove to pick up the furkids from Papa and DiDi @lindyhorton23 The little shits didn’t want to come home! While we were away we demanded Proof Of Life photos every day and even FaceTimed the puppies. But they didn’t care! They had ten days of pampering, constant cuddles and eating whiting Dad caught. Plus Dad was constantly picking burrs from Mr Barkley’s face and Mum had to wash Maui twice because she rolled all over a dead rat and was so stinky! Now I think the puppies want to FaceTime the grandparents! We are happy they are so loved but Darren is threaten to put them in a kennel next time so they miss us!

Caption : Oooh I made a tomato and brie tart to use up some of my home grown tomato crop. What a winner! I’m not a chef (I don’t even like cooking) but this is from Delish.com and the link is in my stories. Ingredients 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed 3 to 4 tomatoes, trimmed and sliced into thin half moons Salt 1/2 brie wheel, cut into thin slices 1 tbsp chopped chives Freshly ground black pepper Balsamic glaze and basil leaves, for serving Directions Step 1 Preheat oven to 200º. On a lightly floured surface, roll puff pastry Slide pastry onto a baking sheet. Using a fork crated a folded edge. Step 2 Meanwhile, sprinkle tomatoes all over with 1/2 teaspoon salt and arrange in a single layer on papers. Blot top of tomatoes with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible. Step 3 Arrange brie evenly across puff pastry. Top brie with tomatoes. Sprinkle with chopped chives. Salt and pepper. Step 4 Bake until pastry is puffed and golden and cheese is melted, about 25 minutes. Step 5 Drizzle with balsamic glaze and top with basil.
