Chris Jericho Instagram – I am so excited to announce that #TheDeathTour documentary that I executive produced, has been named an official selection by the @slamdancegroup and will debut at the festival NEXT FRIDAY in Park City, Utah! Come join me!
Each winter, when the lakes freeze over, a motley gang of professional wrestlers led by perennial promoter #TonyCondello, leaves #Winnipeg on a one-of-a-kind wrestling tour through remote Indigenous communities of Northern Manitoba. Wrestling insiders call it the ‘Death Tour’ – both for the physical hardships endured on the road and the emotional toll it takes on those who experience it. Famous for its star-studded alumni including @kennyomegamanx, @ratedrcope, @christian4peeps, @dr.luther & so many others, the trip offers wrestlers a rare taste of fame and a chance to see if they have what it takes to make it in professional wrestling. But it also provides hope and inspiration to the communities and the people who come to the shows. This deeply personal documentary travels through Canada’s frozen North and into the wrestlers’ minds as they battle the elements, each other, and the impacts of our colonial past. Chris Jericho Instagram – 38 Years Ago Today: My friend #DavidBurdz won 2 front row tickets to see @kickaxeband at #pantagesplayhousetheatre in Winnipeg and invited me to go with him. Part of his prize were backstage passes to meet the band and the chance to join them onstage to sing their cover of #WithALittleHelpFromMyFriends! Even though I was accused of “hogging the mic” by my friends in the audience (who me?😜), It was an amazing night that I still vividly remember! The only drag was all the pix I took at the show that night, didn’t turn out when I got them back from being developed at Bigelow’s pharmacy (remember those days, kids?). I was soooo sad! But I made up for it some 34 years later when I booked #KickAxe on the second @jericho_cruise!! Still one of the best bands of the 80s, that should’ve made it so much bigger. (Thx to @deanomullin for the pix!) Pantages Playhouse Theatre
