The outages, which began around 9 a.m. ET, came at a critical time as primary elections were underway across the country. __________________________________________________ According to reports from Downdetector, hundreds of thousands of users were impacted by the outage, with many experiencing issues such as being logged out of their accounts and unable to log back in. The timing of the outage could not have been worse, as polls were opening for primary voters and users were left scrambling for alternative ways to stay informed and connected. _________________________________________________ Andy Stone, the director of communications for Meta, the parent company of Facebook, acknowledged the issue in a statement, saying, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.” The lack of a clear timeline for when the services would be fully restored only added to the frustration of users who rely on these platforms for communication and information.
