Flea Instagram – I wasn’t sure how I would feel when Lebron broke Kareem’s record. I went to see Kareem play in 1975 at the forum and he is the guy that made me fall in love with basketball, the poetry of his shot, the intellect, the way he engaged with the world, all of it, he’s an inspiration to me, I love him. But man, seeing Lebron break the unbreakable is stunning and tears apart every preconception. It is transcendent, it is has been done so steadfastly, with such discipline, and so much attention to all the other parts of the game that his scoring almost seemed incidental to his overall game. I am blown away. One of the most monumental accomplishments in all of sports history. Feats of the human spirit never cease to have me in complete awe. Congratulations Lebron, you are the best.
