Hey. Hi. Good. I want to report what a nice nice thing it was to win the AACTA for Best Stand-up Special for my show “Something Special.” On the Gold Coast, no less. Big thanks to everyone who helped get it in the can. Especially Jenno! Such a pro. 🐰🐰 I’d also like to tip my hat to @aacta for acknowledging stand up comedy as its own awardable category. Year in, year out, stand up comics number amongst the most distinctive talents contributing to Australian screen culture… like these legends nominated this year: @zoecoombsmarr (Queerstralia) @kittyflanagan and @chennylifestyle (Fisk) @nina.oyama and @katemclennan (Deadloch) @rhysnicholson (Drag race) @nonstoptomgleeson (Hard Quiz)* Unlike Neighbors** stand up is more than just a pipeline to ‘bigger’ things.
