Kyle Allen Instagram – I remember when I first arrived in LA. I had no idea what I was doing. I met a captain of a small street performing crew randomly on the sidewalk. He didn’t believe that I could do a back flip. So I did one. Then he did one. It was like a handshake. I showed him some tumbling videos so he’d know I was legit and then he invited me to perform with him on Venice beach. We would tumble on the asphalt in between the shops and the beach where all the tourists would walk by. I wrapped torn strips of cloth from a shirt I bought from goodwill around my hands to keep the gravel from sticking into my palms when I did tumbling passes. On the weekends they taught me how to front-flip over people. I eventually got the hang of it. I did about six shows a day and always had a headache from the head rush you get from tumbling excessively. I made enough money to buy lunch for my friends on occasion. No conclusion really. Just a fun memory.
