Did our partner truly embrace our imperfections? Were they genuinely there when we needed them the most? And, importantly, did their actions reflect our core values? There’s a natural tendency to paint a perfect picture of the past—to hold on to the good and overlook the painful moments. However, it’s often the case that the truth of our experience diverges significantly from the idyllic memories we cling to, and our ability to be balanced when looking back at the relationship is key to recovering from heartbreak. Thank you so much to my dear friend, @doctorramani. This conversation was incredible.

Matthew Hussey Instagram – My buddy @trentshelton just released a brand new book I’m so excited about this week: “Protect Your Peace: Nine Unapologetic Principles For Thriving in a Chaotic World”. I can’t wait to read it myself, I love themes Trent is covering in this book, they are so relevant and so important for all of us in these times. I’m waiting for my copy to show up in the mail! You can visit www.TrentShelton.com to order your copy today, as they are available right now!
Matthew Hussey Instagram – When we’re dating someone who doesn’t know what they want, we’ll often appropriate their excuse and use vague language like “we’re just having fun” or “let’s see what happens.” This can feel like a comfort in the moment, but it can also be a way of avoiding having the hard conversation we’re afraid to have because we don’t trust that the answer will be what we want to hear.

In other words, we worry the party will end if we express our needs or standards.

Have you ever done this? Let me know what you think in the comments. I love reading them!
