Yannick Nézet-Séguin Instagram – Thursday night’s concert at @carnegiehall was simply amazing, sharing the stage with the National Youth Orchestra All-Stars and @daniiltrifonov. But the magic didn’t end there… Last night, I ran into one of the musicians that performed in the concert. This young violist thanked me for our musical week spent together, saying he especially appreciated the emotional output we all put into Shostakovich Seventh Symphony. He emphasized that it cannot be played without feeling the pain. After hearing this, I can tell you one thing is for certain: classical music is in good hands with the younger generation. To the musicians — thank you all for an unforgettable concert and for your inspiring energy.
Le concert de jeudi soir à @carnegiehall était incroyable, partageant la scène avec les “Étoiles” de l’Orchestre national des jeunes des États-Unis et @daniiltrifonov. Mais la magie ne s’est pas arrêtée là… Hier soir, j’ai croisé par hasard l’un des musiciens qui a joué dans le concert. Ce jeune altiste m’a remercié pour cette semaine musicale passée ensemble, disant qu’il appréciait surtout l’investissement émotionnel que nous avons tous mis dans la Septième de Chostakovitch. Il a souligné qu’on ne peut pas la jouer sans ressentir la douleur. Après avoir entendu cela, je peux vous dire une chose avec certitude : la musique classique est entre de bonnes mains avec la jeune génération. Aux musiciennes et musiciens — merci pour un concert inoubliable et pour votre énergie inspirante.
