i grew up in montgomery, alabama with our history literally at my doorstep and I didn’t learn about Juneteenth until adulthood. we cannot take our history, our stories, our culture & traditions for granted. the fight for freedom hasn’t ended, it has merely changed shape. may we continue to honor the sacrifices and legacy of our ancestors.
