Savagely stacked in stranger’s sacks
These high heels- General Sherman wannabes
Give sporadic meaning to my fantasies
I took hold of my destiny
When, like Morel, I’ve invented
Pure obsession, a compulsion-vanity.
My fires were bigger than yours
They sat at dinner tables
Made appearances at late-night shows;
Horror took centre stage, but that was vague
As heart-full blown Phoenix Red exclaimed
I’ll take you for a ride on the other side
Set glory in unity
Circle bodies with light
Visionaries are my sisters
My brotherhood’s on sight
The kiss is whole
The well is emptied
When thunder strikes
I’ll say it gently:
Let the days make room for legends
Let the nights make room for love
Let your dance describe your story
Let your deeds soften the wound.
