Anika Noni Rose Instagram – My friends. I can’t believe it’s been another year. And for so many of us, a really tough one. I’m so grateful to have made it though, and so glad you’re here with me.
If you know me at all, you know that I’m very passionate about young people, about education, about the arts, and about young people with special needs.
My grandmother, Cora Lee Bentley Radcliffe, was a dedicated special education teacher, both at school, and at home with her own child (my uncle) William “Billy” Radcliffe.
It is in honor of her never-ending love and passion as a teacher and mother, and her constant push for my uncle’s journey in a world that didn’t make much space for him that I founded the Cora Lee Bentley Radcliffe and William Radcliffe Memorial Fund.
Operated through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the memorial fund supports arts programs & services benefiting mentally challenged & special needs children.
I wouldn’t ask, if it weren’t a necessity, but we need your help to keep this fund flourishing.
We are hoping to raise at least ten thousand dollars this year, and because I believe in putting my money where my mouth is (especially in this unprecedented year for those of us in the business) I will match the first donations up to $1000.00. As it is a non-profit, all your donations are tax deductible.
In a time when we all could use a bit extra, a time when need is so clear all around us, I know you have many options, and I thank you for sharing your gifts with our children.
Please share this post if you are so moved.
