מאות מחבלים חצו את הגבול מעזה לישראל ברכבים צבאיים במטרה להרוג ולחטוף ישראלים. הם הפציצו מכוניות, בתים, ירו נון מממים על צמתים. הם הגיעו בין היתר גם למסיבת טבע עם מאות משתתפים שם ביצעו רצח המונים טבחו וחטפו. כרגע ידוע על 200 נרצחים. 1100 פצועים ועשרות חטופים.
