Camila Alves was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Although she spent some of her childhood in a city, the rest of the time was in the country, specifically the small town of Itambacuri in the state of Minas Gerais. She was startled by how many aspects of Texas life reminded her of her own upbringing.

I loved these latest red carpet photos, It’s been a long time since I have seen photos of myself in the carpet where I actually see myself. A huge Part of it has been my health, other part is me fitting into a mold that doesn’t fit me, part has been me not accepting parts of myself… let’s just say that I am grateful that the 2 last things I am done and over with it !👊🏽 I am who I am,… the health part I will thrive to work on daily and control what I can to give my best 🙏🏽 it’s Friday give yourself a reminder of your compass and if you don’t have one maybe a good day to pick one, even if it’s just for this coming week! 👍🏽

Germany it was…!!! More of you Guessed it right!!! Try this TIP too! Supermarkets and pharmacies in different countries are always my first shopping stop! A lot of countries have high standards of what goes on their shelves…You find so much great stuff for inexpensive and learn so much about the culture, just by cruising around the supermarket and pharmacy isles…how they go about day to day.
For instance in this SMALL town in Germany at the supermarket I found the coziest warmest most comfortable best winter tights I have ever had for less then $10 and with natural materials!!!(went back and got more for myself,my daughter and her friends),
best travel mirror that attaches to anything,
BEAUTY products,
earrings,
toys for my 11 year old,
GREAT organic(bio) food and snacks for great prices!
Going to their pharmacy down the road most of the items on the shelves were natural medicines, preventative and most major brands for things we see in America were in the back… great supplements coming from Switzerland! just those couple hours let me know what this small community values. And gain great stuff for much less!

As I am NO expert on the topic, but many years ago I was taught that plastic WHEN exposed to different temperatures it can leak chemicals into the water. I just didn’t want to wait for an organization to prove it rigth or wrong, the thought of that and the Environment impact quickly made me switch to glass bottles and filter systems many years ago! Have you had any experiences with this topic?

When @officiallymcconaughey and @camilamcconaughey joined me on #YourMamasKitchen, I knew this was going to be a fun episode. It was the first time they appeared on a podcast together, and we had a great time going down memory lane and learning about the lessons they learned in their childhood kitchens in Texas and Brazil.
One of my favorite moments is captured in this clip, where they describe what they do in their current kitchen to make sure it’s a place filled with comfort and merriment:
They keep an old-fashioned record player next to the sink and everyone takes turns spinning albums of their choice. It sparks spontaneous singing and dancing and family fun. Don’t you just love that idea? Now I want a turntable in my kitchen!!
