We are a swim family.😅🏊🏼‍♀️🏊🏼‍♂️💪🏼 For those of you who know what it’s like, you know what I’m talking about… the long long days, the getting up at the crack of dawn, the going on way too little sleep, the losing our voices from screaming poolside, the never ending drying off, changing into ridiculously expensive carbon fiber racing suits with special gloves and aprons because God forbid you accidentally tear the fabric, the drying off again, the detangling sprays, the finding of lost water bottles, and flip flops and goggles, the elation of getting a PB or a medal, the tears and frustration of not, the sinus infections, ear infections, the stuffy noses, or head bumps from hitting the wall, the checking checking checking & rechecking of times on Splash Me and Meet Mobile, the sheer amount of food and snacks and protein bars and electrolytes and coffee, did I mention coffee? needed to sustain all of us, the power banks to power our phones in order to capture all the VDO clips of every race plus endless doom scrolling on social media in between and for Roblox of course, the pillows and blankets and fold up chairs and sleeping mats and ice chests and trips to 7 eleven, the warm ups and cool downs and EVERYTHING in between. It’s all worth it. Too see those proud smiles and raised thumbs and even the snot and hot tears….. it’s all worth it. ❤️ This was Martin’s Cup Swimming Championship 2024. Aiden gots PBs in nearly every event and learned a lot about setting goals and dealing with expectations. He’s really coming along and we are so so proud. And Leila took home: 🥇50m breast 🥇200m breast 🥈50m butterfly 🥈100m breast 🥈400m IM 🥉200m IM 🥉100m butterfly 🥉200m free & another 🥇🥈 for team relays Putting her third overall in 15 year age group (although she just turned 14 less than 3 months ago 😅) A testament to her hard work and dedication.
