In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, I’ve been thinking a lot about the saying “If you can see it, you can be it.” There have been so many women I’ve encountered in the entertainment industry who have exemplified those words. They’ve empowered me to chase my dreams, take risks and to keep going when it’s really, really hard. At the risk of leaving someone out I won’t attempt to list them all but chances are I’ve said those words to them in conversation. I’m constantly inspired by women I know and women I don’t know and if I’ve learned anything over the last 15 years in Hollywood it’s that visibility matters. I also feel so fortunate for the men in my life who have mentored me, made introductions, included me on sets, in meetings, in conversations and in decision making so that one day I can be that example (“A Shining Example” if you will… 😏) to someone coming up behind me.
