No matter how much we prepare or try to control events in our lives, we often find that the only thing we can do is surrender to the gentle and often chaotic flow of life with gratitude and grace through it all. This video is from an aerial circus show I was a part of, and as I was proud of my body and myself for the tremendous effort it took to learn the routine (bruises and scars from the silks and steel lyra have left their mark) yet, I was also in shock and pain and fear for what I was going through this day. I wanted to show up for the performance and not let anyone down, I wanted to show my family what I had spent learning all summer. I wanted to prove to myself that I was strong. But the pain my body and emotional part of me was experiencing was really rather rough and interesting and eventhough this performance was in August of 2023, I didn’t realize a part of the experience still affected me. We had two nights of performances. The first night, I took an extra bow for the baby growing in my womb. The second night of performing (this video) I was purging the baby in my womb (a miscarriage). It was painful and I blamed myself. But i simply had to trust my body and The Universe/Source/Goddess for the – what I could say was a cleansing and preparing – for the next chapter, for the next baby to come when the time was right. So I am honored to share my performance and story. Nothing is ever a loss but a lesson and I realized through the entire experience that we are miracles, we are a part of the whole, of the divine, of the earth. I am grateful for my experiences and I am grateful for the baby boy growing safely now in my womb. Thanks for listening. (Original routine was performed to Somewhere Only We Know, but since I sped up and cut down the routine I chose a different song that I felt was powerful for what I went through).
