Today I made a little compilation of Funk, Reggae, and R&B for all my Gen X’ers out there who had the pleasure of enjoying these songs the first time around. These are just a few of my very favorites from a time when you had to either press record on your boom box to capture your favorite songs or go to the record store to buy the albums. “Hey Siri, play 80’s music” didn’t exist back then. I only wish I could make these longer than 90 seconds. This music deserves more time. By the way- fun fact about music from the Generation X Era….Funk music was actually born during our generation as was disco and so many other genres. More on that in the following weeks.
