Peace. What a journey it has been to learn to flow with God like water. To see myself the way that He sees me. To walk in the fullness of who I am. To decide who I am and to no longer let other people decide it for me. To find my voice. To say yes with my whole heart and to say no and not take it back. To let people go when their seasons in my life have run their course. To snatch my heart back from hands that mishandle it…. And then to not take their mishandling personally (I’m still working on this one lol). To show up for myself. To stand up for myself the way I stand up for others. To learn to forgive and give grace even without the apology. To also learn that forgiveness doesn’t always include reconciliation. To let God open some doors…and to let Him shut others and to trust Him and not resist either way. To build a gate around my heart and not a wall. To be intentional about my peace and my joy. To share that peace and joy with others but to not let people steal from it (and to quickly discern the difference). To also make sure that everything and everyone around me contributes to that peace, faith and joy. Last year, I went through a lot of pruning and it was hard but it was necessary because I now look around at all of the people in my inner circle with joy and peace and a deep knowing that they truly love me and are truly for me and, for that, I am truly grateful. Peace is a journey.
