Elise Neal Instagram – With #sundancefilmfestival wrapping for 2024 – throwing it back to when a little film called #hustleandflow shook the industry & was the #audienceaward winner , A bidding war over the film, and had my hometown Memphis , and hollywood buzzing ..& introduced (my now friend and incredible director) Craig Brewer to the masses.. Rest in peace the light and my mentor John Singleton🙏🏼 We miss you every day John 🙌🏾 #swipe
Elise Neal Instagram – WHEW ! I am losing the legends that made me believe in myself ‘yall 😪 and showed me what it takes and how it is done.. We lost the original broadway legend #hintonbattle The 3 time Tony award winner, the original scarecrow in The Wiz,- I do not talk about this part of my life enough- But Hinton & I worked together on #sophisticatedladies touring company [ I was just a new chorus girl member back then in NYC. ] Touring all over Japan. Then he included me in his group for #starsearch ( 📸 above) and many years later in his Stage Play “Love Lies” A gifted performer, choreographer , producer. He was incredible to watch. But found joy in including others. I remember so many talks with him about the business- and being on Star Search was my 1st time being on Tv & even coming to LA ! One thing he said I always remember is ” Go full out – If you give it everything & and it doesnt go your way .Then you know it’s about something else & you make yourself proud.” 🙏🏼🙏🏼 You will be missed!! #riphintonbattle
