Ellie Holcomb Instagram – “He is not here; He is risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”  This is the story of Easter. Our hope is grounded in an empty grave. And yet, our hearts ache and break and long for a day when every tear shall be wiped away. This is a heavy week in Nashville, TN. Our bodies remember the awful way we had to wait to see if our loved ones or families that we knew and loved were affected forever by the shooting at the Covenant School. Many of us have been grieving the painful loss of loved ones taken senselessly and far too soon for a whole year now. Please pray for us. March 27th is the year anniversary of that tragic, tragic day, and here we are in holy week. What a wild and heavy combination … some of our cities’ deepest sorrow is mingling this week with the most raw and beautiful story that I know. The story of how Jesus willingly entered suffering to make a way for us to all understand this beautiful truth: As deep as the pain can take us, Love’s a deeper well.
