The EPA has just put out new rules for tailpipe emissions that could soon transform America’s automotive industry! The goal was reduced somewhat to make things easier on manufacturers, but the plan is to have fifty-six percent of new cars and light trucks sold in America be electric or hybrid by 2032! To be clear, there’s no technical BAN on gas-powered cars. But carmakers will have to reduce the average emissions across their product lines, so clearly, there’s a big incentive for them to go green! The new standards are supposed to start taking effect in 2027. But that could change depending on the results of the next presidential election. I say that because Donald Trump isn’t very keen on electric vehicles. Suffice it to say, he’d likely kill these changes if given the chance. But what do you think?
