Gina Yashere Instagram – As our show @bobheartsabishola comes to an end, some of the frustrations I’ve been holding are coming to the surface. Ain’t gonna lie, I’m furious that our show has been consistently ignored when it comes to emmy season, When we are doing stuff that has never been seen on mainstream television before, & our product is as good as anybody else’s out there. Our costume department alone have done amazing things & I’m sad that their efforts are not being rewarded, I mean did you see the season 3 wedding episode??? To be also ignored by the @naacpimageawards feels like a kick in the vagina. I know it isn’t all about awards but it does feel nice to be recognized by your peers, And also bask in the glow of black excellence. I’ll also be asking the same question to @glaad. I was good enough to host the Glaad awards during COVID, but not good enough to be invited since. Seriously it’s easy to be disheartened in this industry, tho I won’t let it happen, so I rant. That’s it. Rant over.
