Jerrie Johnson Instagram – An ode to Jerrie in her 20’s:
If my twenties was a love letter to my younger self the title would be ‘Anomaly’ because I defied every childhood expectation of me. Because upbringing was difficult I committed my adulthood to radical Joy and I did exactly that. Being the first in my family to do so many things actually worked out in my favor because I wasn’t fighting through familial doubt, but discovering new possibilities. And looking good doing it.
I’m really that girl. And been that girl.
Most of these pictures are from my early 20’s. You all get to indulge in the post Harlem Jerrie but before I booked the show at 25 there was a whole nother version of Jerrie.

The Jerrie who always found her way to the stage at parties. 🪩

The Jerrie who will speak over your life in the corner at a bar. 🔮
The Jerrie who has always excelled. ✅
The Jerrie who had been manifesting her life since she was writing poems about a better life at 5 years old. 🙏🏾
The Jerrie who is fearless because she knows what the bottom feels like.👾
The Jerrie who is Courageous cause she was raise by Johnnie Mae Muthafuckin Cooper (as she would say it) 🤍
I’m excited for what this next decade will bring, what different versions of me will emerge, and what abundance is yet to come by making Joy my number one priority in life.
