My love for the lungi 🤍. It all started at 10 when I realized the sheer elegance and comfort they offer. On top of that, they had beautiful patterns, colors and not so expensive. It was around 35 rupees to 50 rupees at the ration shop next to our home. I began asking my grandmother to stitch shirts, skirts, frocks, and kurtas out of them for me. She happily tailored them, and I wore them throughout my teenage years. Once I turned 18, I started wearing kailis കൈലി as they are. The one in the picture ( in 2004) is from my father @maitreyamaitreyan. Picture was taken at the back stage of the theatre production Siddhartha by @jyothishmg . I feel they are one of the best attires for a tropical climate. ♥️
