Katie Carpenter Instagram – In January, we made plans to travel back to Kevin’s hometown in New York so his grandpa could meet Cora. In his 90’s, we knew his time could be limited and it was important to us that he met his newest great granddaughter.
Our trip was this weekend, but we didn’t make it in time to meet his grandpa.
The whole family feels this loss, as he was such a vibrant light. He left a long legacy of accomplishments behind and a large, beautiful family.
I always felt welcome when he was around. He made sure to always ask how I was doing, and genuinely cared about the answer.
When we FaceTimed with him two weeks ago, he asked us if we needed anything for the baby, because “babies need things.” He insisted on sending us a check, and I told him if he did, then we’d buy a baby carrier for the airport when we came to see him.
We’re still going up to New York this weekend, but to send him home. Rest in peace, Grandpa Eade. 🤍 | Posted on 17/Feb/2024 01:24:10
