Katie Couric Instagram – More scenes from Alexei Navalny’s funeral service in Moscow, which took place today under tight supervision from the Russian authorities, who have arrested hundreds of mourners at memorial sites since Navalny died. Outside the church and cemetery, thousands of people gathered and chanted “Thank you, Alexei,” and “Russia will be free!” After a procession to the cemetery, Navalny’s coffin was lowered to the Frank Sinatra song “My Way,” and then the final song from “Terminator 2,” which Navalny considered “the best film on Earth.” Alexei Navalny’s wife Yulia, and two children, Daria and Zakhar did not appear to be present at the funeral. Yulia posted a statement on X today dedicated to her husband: “Lyosha, thank you for 26 years of absolute happiness,” she wrote using her husband’s nickname. “I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to make you up there happy for me and proud of me.” Images via Getty
