As I told my story on stage today I only scratched the surface talking about the challenges I faced (and still face) going through years misdiagnosis, medical malpractice and trauma, and the challenges living with hidden, chronic disabilities,
Challenges that many can relate to, and many of us don’t speak about. There is a unique aspect to living with conditions so underresearched, disrespected and unknown that adds an extra layer to the complexity for both ourselves and the people around us,
We have to keep sharing our stories, listening to the stories of others and ensure that we change the narrative.
Disability rights are human rights.
