Kim Rhodes Instagram – “Yeah, I watched one of your episodes. The one where your, quote, SON was shot by my second favorite Winchester,” my daughter said.

This was it. This was my moment. I had an SPN stan captive in my car. I could finally decipher what made someone a Sam Girl or a Dean Girl. But I had to be smooth.

“Second Favorite? Who’s your first favorite Winchester?”

“Dean, of course.”

“Oh. What makes you like him better than Sam?”

“I don’t!” she snapped.

“But… but…” I should have known better. Heedless, I plowed ahead. “You said he was your first favorite?”

“He IS, Mom!”

I was so confused. “So what makes Dean your first favorite and Sam your second favorite?”

She took a deep breath, then explained as if I were a goat, “He is the oldest. He was born FIRST. He came FIRST. So he is my FIRST favorite. Sam was born SECOND. You were ON the show. You should know these things.”
