It’s not that I absolutely LOVE to run or even that I’m that good at it. I run because of how it makes me FEEL 🏃🏾♀️ ❤️ Five years ago I tore my labrum in my hip and that has made a lot of things, including running more challenging than I’d like it to be. My left leg is perpetually tight and if you look closely you can see how my stride is slightly shortened on the left. But running is one of few activities where I can zone out. Where I can listen to my breathing and feel my heart beat and pay attention to my body and despite being exhausted, still feel powerful and strong and ALIVE 🤸🏾♀️When my watch announced the close of mile 8 I was actually impressed that it seemed to have flown by but come mile 10 I was wishing my sis had a magic carpet we could ride! Around mile 11 my knees felt so stiff😩And by mile 12, my mind was playing tricks on me 🫠But knowing there was just one mile to go on this particular training run made the last mile almost fun. Running with my sister for the last 4 miles didn’t hurt either 😘 #familyfun So go get out there if you’re able and so inclined! If I get something in my mind, it’s hard to shake. For me, right now, it’s training for another marathon. This will be my 3rd. PART ONE: The increase in miles has meant a slight increase in my resistance to doing this run… Why? Spitballing here, but I believe it’s because its been a while since I’ve run a marathon.
