Cargill,Inc, owned by the Cargill-MacMillan family is one of the main drivers behind the destruction of the world’s forests and other critical ecosystems. Recently they’ve pledged to change their ways but they haven’t withdrawn support for the Ferragrão – a proposed railway mega-project that would cut 600 miles through the heart of the Amazon and the land of the Munduruku, Panará, Kayapó, and Xingu peoples. Cargill has a long history of making bold public policy commitments and then not keeping them. We hope this time will be different.
