Renuka Shahane Instagram – My Telugu movie “Money” released on this day, 10th of June, 30 years ago. I can’t believe it’s 30 years already. I have so many beautiful memories of our shooting in Hyderabad. Firstly I got this offer from Ram Gopal Varma’s production all thanks to Bijon Dasgupta, our Art Director ( or Director of Production Design ). I used to work in a lot of ads by UTV where he was the Production Designer in many. Very often we had to perform in many languages, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada. Bijon da noticed that I used to be able to pick up the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada versions with ease. That’s why, when Ramuji was on the look out for an innocent, homely actress for his production “Money”, Bijon da suggested my name and I was signed for it. Everybody on the set, from Director Siva Nageshwar Rao Garu to Chinna, Chakravarthy, Paresh bhai, Jayasudha ji and Teja ( DOP) were so warm, motivating and helpful. It has left me with a lifetime of beautiful memories and some very warm friends. Thank you to the entire cast & crew. Thank you to the audience for loving our film and grateful for all the love that I still get for “Money” ❤️🙏🏽
P.S: Here’s a special note of appreciation to Ramuji who in my 35 years in the industry has been the only producer to have sent me an extra cheque for the success of our film. What a kind & thoughtful gesture, hai na? 🙏🏽
