The Challenge
Young girls in Ethiopia face significant challenges when it comes to menstrual hygiene. They often lack access to proper sanitary products, leading to embarrassment, missed school days, and health risks. The stigma around menstruation prevents open conversations, leaving these girls feeling isolated and unheard.
Listening and Learning
I’ve sat down with teachers, communities, and students to understand their stories, educational journeys, and the obstacles they encounter. Their experiences have touched me deeply. It’s time to break the silence and take action.
Creating Awareness
With my knowledge and resources, I’ve initiated awareness campaigns. We discuss menstrual health openly, emphasizing the proper usage of reusable pads. By educating both girls and boys, we aim to eliminate taboos and empower future generations.
Providing Solutions
I’ve distributed reusable sanitary pads to young girls. Witnessing their smiles and happiness as they receive these pads is incredibly rewarding. But this is just the beginning. Let’s continue our efforts to ensure sustainable solutions for all young women.
