Last year I struggled with Instagram. Like many people, the algorithm dunked on me hard. A simple photo used to get thousands of likes and now every time I post something I lose followers and gain anxiety. It seems silly to put value on any of this, but when you work with brands, they literally measure your value based on social media metrics. So many people DM’d me saying they’ve been following my journey since way before that and are so proud of how far I’ve come. It made me realize that we’ve come so far from what this is supposed to be, us following each other’s journeys and hopefully being inspired/entertained/encouraged by it.
