As Black people, particularly Black women, we find ourselves placed into and confined within societal boxes defined by labels and expectations. Frequently, it feels as though there is little room or allowance to remove these predefined spaces and stereotypes, and to exist as multifaceted individuals with rich and complete lives. As Black History Month draws to a close, I urge you to continue holding space for the Black people in your community throughout the year to lead full, vibrant, and beautiful lives. Happy Black History and Futures Month 🖤

Becoming a parent totally shifted my priorities as a person. Every sacrifice and all the hard work is all for them. I wanted them to have everything I felt I needed as a child, because I wanted to break those generational curses and give my kids every opportunity to flourish. Seeing them come home every day happy, healthy, and taken care of, makes every single sacrifice worth it ❤️
heard y’all were talking about me on twitter, y’all ain’t ever heard of a freakum pantsuit 😂
Can you believe Sister, Sister premiered almost exactly 30 years ago 🤯 I am always so honored and amazed that @tameramowrytwo and I got to do such an amazing show that reached so many people, and people are still rewatching today! What’s your favorite Sister, Sister episode?
Rediscovery. Redefining. Recentering. These words have echoed in my mind and filled the pages of my journal over the past few months. For the longest time, I held onto preconceived notions of what my life should look like, but, as often happens, life can take an unexpected turn, steering us onto a different path. It’s tempting to view these course corrections as failures, but they’re not. They’re opportunities for fresh beginnings, for embracing goodness, and finding peace. So, here’s to embracing redirection. I’m grateful to @michelleospino_ for capturing these moments of my journey.
