Wunmi Mosaku Instagram – This Valentine’s Day I’m showing my love for @actionaidUk’s #MyBodyIsMine campaign, encouraging women and girls to proudly reclaim their rights, take ownership of their bodies and demand an end to sexual harassment!
#MyBodyIsMine calls for more women and girls to take ownership of their bodies and get justice for any harassment they have faced. Worldwide, one in three women will face physical violence or sexual abuse in their lifetime, most likely by someone they know due to the common idea/belief that their bodies are the property of men, for them to exploit and control.
In the countries where ActionAid works girls are also at daily risk of female genital mutilation and child marriage. We want to put an end to this for good and ensure all women and girls worldwide live a life free from violence.
