As some of you know, I practically lost 90% of my muscle in my leg when I broke it. After 8 weeks in a cast, I didn’t recognise my own leg when I finally saw it again.
I have been working hard to get my strength and muscles back. Training lots. Eating lots. Happy with the progress so far. Feeling stronger every day.

I haven’t shared my daily rehab workouts because they are so boring and slow to watch. But they have been crucial in my recovery 🙏🏼

I used to see the gym as just a place for building aesthetically pleasing bodies, which didn’t motivate me much. But now I see it as a vital place for building functional strength, building strong muscles, heart, MIND, AND bones! Did you know that putting weight through your bones increases bone density? I had no idea 🙈 This is why elderly people have weak, brittle bones when they are old, because they stop using their bodies 🤯

The gym for me, is now a place to keep being able. A place that will give you a longer lasting and functional body.

The gym has a whole new meaning of value for me now that I didn’t appreciate before. I’m not there to look a certain way, I’m there for my health ❤️‍🩹

Seeing elderly women in hospital who struggled, made me so grateful for the strength that I did have in my upper body, which was able to carry me through difficult times. I want to keep my body functional, mobile and ABLE until I die 🙌🏼
