Caption : Haunted Hotel 👻 For the floorshow we had to create a look for a ghost that resides in a hotel. I chose to be a lady that checks herself into a hotel….but never really leaves. In fact the idea was that she wasn’t even aware that she was dead.reliving her final moments over and over again until the final shot where she discovers the massive hole in the back of her head. I decided she would dress for the occasion.A glamorous corpse in all her finery. I wanted all of the gore(in a glitzy glam way of course)in the back AS A REVEAL for a lingering horror. Caption : 3.Red The two things that fascinate people most are #Sex and #death.The creation of life and the secret to life nobody wants to know. i wanted to represent red with blood.It has the same duality as Life in that it is paired with death. As a gay man growing up in the 80’s with the aids epidemic…. whenever i thought about sex i immediately thought about death and i thought about blood.My blood.i worried about being infected and i worried about dying.There wasn’t enough education and a lot of misinformation. Caption : Trash Can Kids ANNA BANANA For this floorshow I wanted to do a play on my own name and own drag aesthetic.And in Manchester I have a few friends that call me ‘Anna Banana’ so I thought this would be a cute homage to that and also to the 80’s trading cards. I wanted to be bright/cartoony but with a macabre twist. like a waitress serving up a banana split but eventually takes her own skin off.🍌 On paper I think the concept worked but in reality…well it just didn’t. I’ve been putting a brave face on it(tehe)but this was a major fail. But… that happens sometimes in performance…things go wrong….this just happened to be on a massive platform *shudders* Anyhoo it’s not how you fall but how you pick yourself (and your wig and face prosthetic)back up again. Caption : Pleasure Planet X What I would have done… I wanted to do a sex robot for the runway armed with a pump action orgasmatronic jismjuice gun!💗 For the suit I wanted something that felt robotic but organic(a little like Giger)with a metallic outside and a fleshy pink welcoming inside. The suit has multiple access/reveal points with unzippable arms/front and skirt sides.The main front zip with a padded mound.(What lies beneath shall remain a secret…come see me on a tour or show some time…maybe she’ll be a number now 😉) Inspirations for the suit are clearly Barbarella and blade runner with a giger edge! Caption : TERROR IN THE WOODS With this floorshow I wanted to call upon folklore and stories of old…and bring a little bit of Lancashire with me across the pond. Jenny Greenteeth a.ka Wicked Jenny is a figure from folklore, a river hag.she would often drag children and the elderly into the water to drown them.She would sometimes be found in the branches of trees singing her song…. she is described as having long hair,long fingers,green skin and sharp teeth… The name is also used to describe duckweed which forms a green mat on top of the water making it look like grass(potentially treacherous and misleading to children) It was a real labour of love and team effort and I spent (possibly too long) dying pieces of lace to use as moss,ageing up and weathering the dress…covering in liquid latex and adding bits of the forest that she had pulled with her from the lake) Many thanks to @liquorice_black who helped me clean up,actually demould( before adding fake mould) and put together an old wedding dress that had had many other incarnations previously 🖤 @lourobs who helped with platting weeds and stoning 💚 @shortforjacket who helped ‘muddying up Jenny’s slippers 🤎 @Cheddargorgeous for donating some plastic shrubbery 💙 And of course @Florenciawigs who styled jenny luscious locks 🤍 Picture Snapped by ever talented @faketrashstudio 🫀Likes : 2777

Caption : Monsters of Rock part 1 For this floorshow we had to create a monsters of Rock look that would read in an arena(big hair big silloutte)I’m not particularly a ‘Rock’ gal but felt I really had to rise to this challenge(especially after all the drama in the show) I needed battle armour.I wanted big armour like shapes similar to Gwar but also wanted a vampire /villainy edge. Hence the coffin shaped shoulders and upside down crucifix details and eyepatch. Caption : The back story for my Kaiju is a monster created from a Radioactive Toxic oil spill….that cross contaminates lots of creatures from the ocean to create…THE PHYLACTIC. She’s part lobster,fish,Prawn,pufferfish,octopus and she is pissed(not drunk but angry)that you humans destroyed her home and she’s coming to destroy your city….. I was very inspired by the 60’s/70’s Kaiju’s.The bright poppy colours of the posters and the bonkers otherworldly mashup designs! In creating the kaiju I used things I already had.(part of the appeal of doing something like Dragula was to get my creative juices flowing and be really involved in the both design and the make.A lot of shows require drag artists to spend sooooo much money on the package but I’ve always thought part of the magic of drag is in creating something from nothing and turning a look)the kaiju was created from old unused costumes/ spandex outfits,maleficent horns,hair rollers,Cardboard(*gasp*)modelling foam,cushion foam,spray paints, acrylic,Halloween webbing,a gas mask…probably loads of other tat I’ve forgotten about.
