Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Who knew 10 years ago the journey we were about to start on. Whew. When I think back to all the times I was asked, “where do you see yourself in five years, ten years?” I almost want to slap them because you never really know until it happens. What an adventure it’s been. Thank you for coming along and for all the love, #TeenWolf fam ♥️

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Smells like Armani.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - You can tell toxic masculinity it can f*ck right off.

I was raised in a house full of that bullshit and it does nothing but create insecurity, stifle emotional intelligence and attempt to equate attractiveness with reaching a mythical idea of “manliness”. The exiting administration exudes a lot of that and I’m glad to see it go.

Express yourself. Raise others up. Keep fighting for change. Do the work to better yourself. And wear a flower because why not?

Aloha 🌺
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - I like to try to walk casually when I leave the lobby of a nice resort after eating all the free banana bread and drinking all the coffee they set out for the guest(s). Tough to do with that much caffeine but I try.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Now here’s a throwback. Looking through some of my albums, I came across this whipper snapper. While so much has happened when this was taken to now, it still seems like just last week. I can’t imagine where I’d be today having not taken that path when the fork in the road appeared along my journey. What a crazy life this is.

Who remembers where this is from?
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - New desk, who dis?

COVID has not only made the amount of time we spend at our desks increase but also more significantly, decreased the time we used to spend doing even BASIC activity like walking during errand running. Some days even I barely go beyond my doorstep and it's been slowly but surely taking its toll on our bodies:

Degrading posture
Body aching
Hamstring tightness
Back soreness

Working from home, live streaming from home, socializing from home. If you're spending that much time at your desk and you're feeling the same pains, I cannot recommend an Uplift standing desk enough.

I spent two full days disassembling my static desk setup and reassembling my massive studio workstation when my Uplift desk arrived. I went with the all white option but it took me a while to pick through all the colors and even real RECLAIMED WOOD desktops they offer. 10 year warranty (always good to have). 355lbs lift capacity (If you also have a ton of peripherals) and pretty much every design customization you could ask for (make it your own). My last stream was 6 hours long. I stood the entire time. It's f*cking great.

[in dad voice] Now go stretch, drink some water and take a walk.

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Hi. Have you registered to vote yet? Did you already vote? Asking for 382 million friends.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - #WomenOwnWednesday - I'm partnering with @VerizonBusiness on the Verizon Women's CoLab initiative to bring you a personal share: These costumes represent a lot more than just the time, effort and materials I spent to create and assemble them. To me, they represent the entrepreneuring women who have generously and -very- patiently imparted years of industry experience on my n00b fabricator brain to design and complete some of the most challenging projects of my life. Imagine the impact women like them have across all industries.

Although half of our population are women; strong, hardworking, educated, smart, talented, experienced, did you know they are leaving the workforce at FOUR TIMES the rate men are due to pandemic related demands at home. This is a tragedy and a huge step in the wrong direction considering the insight, passion and acumen women bring to business. I cannot overstate the privilege it has been to work with and bear witness to the incredible ones I've met throughout my career as an marketer, actor and creative.

That being said, they need our support now more than ever and I'm taking this opportunity with @Verizon to not just give a shout out to all those women out there sharing their talents but also to take every Wednesday starting with this one to highlight entrepreneurs like Lauren Matesic, an award winning costumer, owner of @CastleCorsetry and sorceress of her craft. I've watched her business thrive as she uses it to empower women (AND men) in the most creative ways with her love for costuming, couture and cosplay. I hope you'll check out @CastleCorsetry while pledging to support Women Own Wednesdays with your own shout out to other entrepreneurial women and woman-owned small businesses. Without her and many other entrepreneuring women like her, I don't know where we'd be. Let's not find out. #VerizonAmbassador

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Do not forget how much work we still have to do as a country. Achieving equality, acceptance and love are work. Do the work.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Birthday content goes here!! …Thanks for sticking with me for so many. This one has been a welcomed renewal of celebration. Happy [cough] [cough] [mumbled number] birthday, me!
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - [smirk]
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Never lose your sense of wonder... but really tall lookouts and silver floating balloons can also help. #ilovenyc #summitov
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Won’t skip your birthday.
Won’t steal your scarf.
BUT I might still sip coffee.
Is that a deal breaker? 😬
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Yes, hi, but did you bring snacks??
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Pure joy. Recent loss and some new exciting beginnings on the horizon in my life have been a great reminder that no matter how chaotic it gets, you must make time for the people and activities that bring you happiness and to be most grateful when you can manage to do both at the same time.

When I jumped out of a hot air balloon from 5,000 ft at sunrise from a rope swing a few weeks ago, I was fortunate to share the moment with some of my @twitch community who came to watch (and later skydive!). I think I’ll remember their facial expressions more than the jump itself.

If you’re curious about skydiving, want to hang with a great streaming community or want to watch some bad horror/variety game playing - come to the relaunch on Nov 2nd! Keahu.tv

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Light at the end of the tunnel. Who else ready for better days ahead? I sure AF am.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Can’t even remember how old I turned today. Am I a geriatric now? Is that what this is?

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - While @Delta didn't teach me to fly, this shot was not photoshopped. It does show that starting your trip off with a great flight experience can put you in a more -uplifting- mood *wink *wink for when you have less than 48 hours to see a place. Check-in to take off to landing, I'm genuinely pleased with Delta's new international Main Cabin service; welcome cocktails, an upgraded food menu and chocolate while you wait to deplane. Mahalo to the kindest crews there and back and to everyone who dropped some London tips. I barely had time to sleep. Will have to make a longer trip again soon.⁣ #ad⁣⁣

What's the quickest long distance trip you've ever made (not leaving the airport doesn't count)?

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Avengers Tower. Does anyone know the actual name of this building? 😂
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Getting ready for #nycc like... “Can this count as my cosplay?” I wish... Who’s going to be there? It’s that time of year again when the anxiety of creating an epic costume (or five) creeps up on crafters. I see you. Feel like you set the bar so high for yourself that you can’t just phone it in? Same. But guess what, #worthit. If you’re in the final stretches of finishing that sick ass costume for Comic Con, I’m looking forward to seeing it next week. You guys are so damn clever and creative. I’ll be creeping around the floor in my own. Get pics with everyone. You never know who it might be in disguise ;)
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - My motivation here is: banana bread. And walnuts. Inside the bread. Before it’s baked. BEFORE. Not on top. Don’t @ me. Actually, do @ me. I like them. But also walnuts. Ok bye.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - When you start to get sand in your shoes but then you remember you can earth bend… #tbt

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - What’s the longest you’ve gone WITHOUT your phone? (On purpose) 🍁🍂 •
About a month ago, I spent 3 blissfully disconnected days dirt biking thru muddy roads, sleeping in tents, and sharing nature with a group equally as passionate about getting back to the basic roots of communing without all the distractions, noise and to-do lists of our daily lives.
Even though it’s practically antithetical to the images we often have of the future; personal flying vehicles, high rise abodes of unending glass superstructures, a robotic population of smart assistants and completely unhindered communication tech connecting us around the world and solar system... it’s moments like this, places like this that are what we should be working hard towards preserving.
Thank you to @wilderness and @lululemonmen for making the trip possible and @adeibold for wrangling. And @dylanefron for the shot. More to come.

Three days for me. Sadly.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Waiting for summer like: “Set snow to MAXIMUM power!” 😏
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Vut ahr yew sinking abowt?
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Now here’s a #fbf. Came across this randomly today. Who remember’s?
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - No matter how tired, overworked or stressed I'm feeling, I'm always pleasantly reminded how critical workouts are to mood and focus. I don't have to explain the health benefits for getting in your exercise. You know. I know. Just MAKE TIME. It's worth it. I'm at the point where even four days off for my recent sinus infection were torture. Fortunately, I was welcomed back to it with an ass kicking with @Superdry. Hope you all made it through the first month of your fitness resolutions. Keep that shit up. #FitnessMyWayNYC #ad
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - #ad Winter is in the air and I love it. Growing up in a warm and tropical climates, I was always told how much I would hate the winter when I found out what it’s like... could not be further from the truth. I know this year hits different but you can still go after all the things to keep you warm through it; hot drinks, toasty fires and cozy, warm clothes. Check out @columbia1938 and Columbia.com for that winter gear I seriously can’t get enough of (maybe even a few gifts for friends and the fam). #unwraptheoutdoors

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Since 2001, I've flown around 250-300k miles with numerous airlines in all classes so when Delta Airlines invited me to take their NEW 5-star Main Cabin service to London, I was excited to compare notes and find out that not only have flight attendants personally helped to redesign the experience, it also includes an upgraded menu, welcome drink (like in first and biz class), actual Ben & Jerry's ice cream and... chocolate while you wait to deplane. #ad

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - #ad Who else has been taking long breaks in the outdoors for their sanity? Getting outside and exploring the mountains has been a mental and physical lifesaver for me during Covid. With winter coming, I'm happy to say I've partnered with @Columbia1938, a brand I've used for YEARS for its cold weather gear, to celebrate its variable Omni-Heat technology that's keeping me warm. From sunrise hikes around icy lakes to backcountry snowboarding through freshly fallen pow, the NASA space blanket inspired lining keeps, at least, the cold away. For whatever else 2020 wants to throw... I'll cross my fingers. Seriously though, go check them out. #warmsmarter

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - #sponsored Where are you from? How did you grow up? Did you ever face discrimination? Was your neighborhood sketchy or safe to play in as a kid? How do you get to school? Did you live with extended family or a small immediate family?

I come from a lower middle class upbringing. For a few years, I ate lunch provided by assistance programs at school. My family situation was complicated. I moved a lot and lived in both dangerous neighborhoods and incredibly safe ones. I'll never forget the loud trains I would wake up to from across the street.

I got bullied at home more than I did at school. The schools I went to were filled with diverse groups of kids from almost EVERY background; religious, racial, immigrant, family income level. In fact, my best friend was a Jehovah's Witness. Much of my family was Mormon. I was fortunate to have health insurance coverage through college and I had ample access to doctors which was good since I was not a stranger to injuries. And while I did fine once I got there, I also barely made it to and afforded college. It was a mixed bag. It was colorful. The exposure to adversity and such wide diversity in experiences taught me both harsh and good lessons but I've made it this far alright. Question is: How/Why?

Social determinants of health play a role in about 30-55% of our health outcomes so what or were there social factors that were critical to helping me push forward? Are there behavioral or genetic traits that contributed? Maybe it was a mentor, having pets to care for or exposure to a different way of thinking in my environment that helped me adapt at critical times. These questions can best be answered through study and research.

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - #ad It's my favorite time of year again; warm drinks, gift giving, changing leaves, snow, wreaths and most importantly: layers! It's rare for me -not- to grab from @columbia1938 when I go to pull out something to wear, especially with all the options they have for keeping warm: Omni-Heat for long, mountainous hikes. Powder lite for running around. In almost any color. Gloves. Shoes. Even if it's just for a walk through Central Park, you've got choices. Already have yourself sorted? Give the gift of a cozier winter with something from @columbia1938. 100% would recommend to a friend. #CSPartner #MadeForOutdoorGiving #visitnyc #visittheusa #centralpark

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Do you see what I see… ❄️
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Who we are today is a result of so many micro and macro events in our lives defined by the people we’ve come in contact with and surrounded by. Imagine how much of your life has resulted from these little momentary interactions that have changed your path over and over. Someone during high school one day suggested looking through a scholarship book. That one event ended up sending me abroad for a year to Germany and fundamentally changed the course of my entire life.
While I have urged you to participate in the @allofusresearch program to help researchers understand and enumerate the ways our lives are affected by the environments we’re living in, I think it’s important to emphasize mental and emotional aspects of the research. How our environment makes us FEEL and what those PERCEPTIONS do to our health in the long term are just as important as the physical ones, like access to infrastructure, food, water, education etc.
Participating is not an instant fix to the problems we’re facing but it’s an important step forward. I like the All of Us research program because by participating in the surveys, we can help them combat biases in research and policy making that dismisses or doesn’t take into account our social environments or consequent health states. We’re complex. We have different opinions and our experiences are much more varied now than the current database reflects. Be a part of that change. #JoinAllofUs #ad

Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - Two years and I still feel the moment of sorrow from your passing as if it were yesterday. We miss you dearly, Grant.
Keahu Kahuanui Instagram - So often, we take ourselves out of where we are in a moment fully surrounded by people and things to experience in order to “escape” through these little glowing screens that “connect” us to people across the planet, returning only after we have enough stimulation until the next time our phone steal us away from real life opportunities to fill us with the rich life of what’s here, now. For me, the pursuit house was a reminder of the rich friendships borne of that quality, in-the-moment time together we spend too little of these days. The community being built by @rhone is something I’m excited to be a part of and one I’m excited to share a glimpse of in this video.

Some days even I barely go beyond my doorstep and it’s been slowly but surely taking its toll on our bodies: Degrading posture Body aching Hamstring tightness Back soreness Working from home, live streaming from home, socializing from home. If you’re spending that much time at your desk and you’re feeling the same pains, I cannot recommend an Uplift standing desk enough. It’s f*cking great. [in dad voice] Now go stretch, drink some water and take a walk.

Keahu Kahuanui - 17.6K Likes - #WomenOwnWednesday - I'm partnering with @VerizonBusiness on the Verizon Women's CoLab initiative to bring you a personal share: These costumes represent a lot more than just the time, effort and materials I spent to create and assemble them.

Keahu.tv

It’s that time of year again when the anxiety of creating an epic costume (or five) creeps up on crafters. I see you. Feel like you set the bar so high for yourself that you can’t just phone it in? Same. But guess what, #worthit. If you’re in the final stretches of finishing that sick ass costume for Comic Con, I’m looking forward to seeing it next week. You guys are so damn clever and creative. I’ll be creeping around the floor in my own. Get pics with everyone. You never know who it might be in disguise ;)

Keahu Kahuanui - 9.7K Likes - What’s the longest you’ve gone WITHOUT your phone?

Finally got some free time to watch No Way Home but had to overlap a burger + drinks + popcorn in order to manage. Yes, I eat carbs. Anyone else go to full service theaters?

Keahu Kahuanui - 7.1K Likes - #ad Who else has been taking long breaks in the outdoors for their sanity?

Keahu Kahuanui - 6.8K Likes - #sponsored Where are you from?

I may not get home very often but you sure know how to welcome one (back) to the islands. From the leis to the incredible buffet breakfast to the perfect ocean view from the room and best resort gym I’ve ever seen... mahalo. Guess I live here now.
Who’s coming?!

Keahu Kahuanui - 5K Likes - #ad It's my favorite time of year again; warm drinks, gift giving, changing leaves, snow, wreaths and most importantly: layers!

Keahu Kahuanui - 4.1K Likes - Who we are today is a result of so many micro and macro events in our lives defined by the people we’ve come in contact with and surrounded by.

Keahu Kahuanui - 3.7K Likes - So often, we take ourselves out of where we are in a moment fully surrounded by people and things to experience in order to “escape” through these little glowing screens that “connect” us to people across the planet, returning only after we have enough stimulation until the next time our phone steal us away from real life opportunities to fill us with the rich life of what’s here, now. For me, the pursuit house was a reminder of the rich friendships borne of that quality, in-the-moment time together we spend too little of these days. The community being built by @rhone is something I’m excited to be a part of and one I’m excited to share a glimpse of in this video. Thank you @natechecketts @jamisonbolt for bringing us together and

for the continued laughs, inspiration, motivation and determination to pursue progress.

Keahu Kahuanui - 2.5K Likes - There are endless things to be in awe of and to do in NYC and I like to make sure I revisit at least a few of them every month.

While they won’t let you BASE jump from the 850ft observation deck 😅 (bet I could make it to sheep’s meadow), it’s still pretty jaw dropping to spend an hour or two at the top.

Thx for the tour @topoftherocknyc
