Med sig har de sin storslagna show som under sommaren dragit storpubliker i hela landet. Med gratiskonserten vill The Ark ge tillbaka till hemtrakterna och Växjö stad, innan de återvänder ut i landet för att slutföra sin Reunion Tour. ”Det hade inte känts som en fullständig turné utan ett stopp i vår älskade hemstad! Vi har försökt få till en spelning i hembygden sedan turnén började planeras och kan nu äntligen berätta att det blir en spelning på Stortorget i Växjö! Det känns extra roligt att det blir en gratis spelning så att alla kan komma och fira tillsammans med oss! Det har varit en fantastisk turné och och vi har haft otroligt kul hittills men den här kvällen kommer nog bli en av sommarens stora höjdpunkter!” Med på konserten har The Ark även det hyllade danska förbandet ”Prisma”. Eventet arrangeras med stolthet av Växjö Citysamverkan! 💛 Var: Stortorget i Växjö city När: Söndag 21 augusti. The Ark kl 20:00. Prisma kl 19:00.

Caption : Vila i frid, Fredrik. Kommer sakna dig enormt. – It’s with great sadness and shock that we received the news that our dear friend and beloved collaborator Fredrik Notling has passed away. Fredrik was the person who taught us all about the internet and ran our website for many years. But he also became a close friend to the band throughout the years. Fredrik had a big heart, a warm soul, a twisted sense of humour and a very open mind. He greeted everything new with a curious “Å-hå!?” and in that sense was an inspiration to us all. He had a deep and thorough love of music and film and was the one you always could discuss cult films, rare bootlegs and obscure outtakes from favourite bands with. Besides that, he was a fantastic singer and joined us many times on stage and in the studio. He was always concerned about our rock roots and therefore always let us know when the guitars were mixed too low. It feels good now to remember that last summer on our reunion tour he was very pleased to hear that the guitars were turned up to a proper eleven. Fredrik will be deeply missed by us all. He will leave a big void in all of our lives. Rest in Peace, Fredrik. /The Ark

The piece is called “Trumpets Blow” and was commissioned by Brass Music Skåne as a part of the festivities around European Brass Band Championships that will take place now in Malmö 25 April-7 May. ”Trumpets Blow” will be performed this monday 1 May in St Petri church, Malmö, by Lunds Brass Band and the choir Petri sångare and will be conducted by Jörgen Flinck. The concert is at 18.00 and the entrance is free! Welcome!

Caption : So, finally I reached the last and main goal with my trip, meeting up with this man: Living legend Charlie McCoy. This time I was more prepared with questions and got a lot of answers about his playing and recordings. We hung out for a whole day, talking, jamming and I got to follow him to the Country Music Awards rehearsals. Such a fantastic, humble, wise and talented person. So grateful that i got to spend this time with him. A day to remember for the rest of my life!
