BD Wong Instagram – Alternate view of the latest @westknits project, the #knitprovisationshawl. Always really fun to give it its first bath and lay it out flat. I made this with @lionbrandyarn’s #mandala yarn in the colorstory #Groot. I cut up the various self-striping sections and used them separately so it’s really #lionbrandyarn that did all the heavy lifting picking out the colors. I don’t always do it that way but I wanted to see how that would work and I like it. If you’re color-phobic you don’t have to be! Also, don’t be color-phobic! I had to make a few adjustments (sections 1 and 5 should be the same gray-green but I ran out so I had to sneak in a gray-plum color, and I also had to use multiple alternating colors for the final wavy stripes for the same reason) but hey, sometimes when one door closes a window opens.
