Did you know one in three Americans (nearly 80 million people) have some level of a criminal record?
While many have paid their debt to society, they still face significant barriers to reentering the workforce and getting a “second chance” at opportunity. In fact, keeping this workforce waiting on the sidelines costs the economy as much as $87 billion in GDP annually. At JPMorgan Chase, we remain committed to this issue by expanding our own second chance hiring, encouraging more employers to do the same, and supporting common-sense policy solutions, like Clean Slate legislation, which lowers barriers to employment and help millions of Americans access a second chance to participate in the economy.
